About Whispy Gypsy
Where it all began...
When I moved to the States it was a risk in life, let alone in my business, but I was desperate to get here to see what opportunities would come knocking at my door. I’d always known I had ‘gifts’ but it wasn’t until I’d moved to Chicago and honed in on them that I realised how strong they were. I did a course with Mark the Midwest Medium and within 8 weeks I was starting my own psychic medium business.
In September 2022 I rented a 6ft x 12ft space in a flea market and that’s where Whispy Gypsy was born. I started out just doing readings and making my own basic crystal beaded bracelets; however, as soon as that began, my creative juice really started to flow. The first risk, I literally started the company with no money, I maxed out my credit card and prayed that I’d make enough money to sustain myself, let alone pay that off. Risk 2, people have mixed emotions about psychics and their ability to ‘talk to dead people’, I didn’t want people’s small minds assuming I was working for dark energies etc. Risk 3, I’m a legal non-immigrant alien in this country, and being British, on a particular visa etc would I be allowed to do this business alongside the one I’d been granted access to the USA for too.
Within the year (to date) I’ve gone from that rectangular building in the flea market, to a 10ft x 10ft space in the same building to now owning my very own store in Madison Heights in Michigan. The risks I’ve taken over the last year has paid off so much and more! I’m now a qualified Holy Fire Reiki Practitioner, and due to my mediumship gifts I have the ability to feel what’s wrong with you in me; if you have a painful right knee, I can feel where the pain is. So, unlike other Reiki Practitioners, I don’t waste time healing areas that don’t need healing, I’ll concentrate solely on the areas that need attention.
When you’re willing to take risks, you learn so much not only about yourself, but other people too. You have to be smart and think ahead as to how you’re not only going to pay next month’s utilities, but the two months after that too. If you so much as stop thinking about how your business is going to carry on, you’ll drop the ball and the risk then is keeping it going without failing.
In conclusion, risk taking has got me where I am today, 3866 miles away from home, 1 business in the UK, and 2 businesses in the US, without taking those risks I’d still be working a 9am to 5pm regular job, they’ve all been risks worth taking!
